Let's analyze your BNP levels

A few questions help us personalize your report.

About BNP

B-type Natriuretic Peptide (BNP) is a hormone released by your heart's ventricles in response to increased wall stretching from volume or pressure overload. It is the primary blood marker for diagnosing and monitoring heart failure severity. A low BNP effectively rules out heart failure in breathless patients with a negative predictive value exceeding 95%.

Also known as: B-type Natriuretic Peptide, BNP, Brain Natriuretic Peptide, 利钠肽.B

What does your BNP result mean?

High BNP confirms ventricular wall stress and strongly suggests heart failure. Low BNP effectively rules out heart failure in breathless patients with a negative predictive value exceeding 95%.

Optimal vs. normal range

Standard diagnostic cutoff is above 100 pg/mL. Optimal is below 50 pg/mL. BNP naturally increases with age and is higher in women.
