Let's analyze your Luteinizing Hormone levels

A few questions help us personalize your report.

About Luteinizing Hormone

LH (Luteinizing Hormone) triggers ovulation in women and stimulates testosterone production in men. An LH surge mid-cycle is the signal that ovulation is imminent — the principle behind at-home ovulation predictor kits. Elevated basal LH in women with a high LH-to-FSH ratio is a key diagnostic feature of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS); in men, elevated LH alongside low testosterone confirms that the problem lies with the testes rather than the pituitary.

Also known as: LH, LH (Luteinizing Hormone), Luteinizing Hormone, Luteotrofina, Lutéotropine, Lutropin, Lutropina, 황체자극호르몬

What does your Luteinizing Hormone result mean?

High LH with high FSH indicates primary gonadal failure. High LH with lower FSH is the hallmark of PCOS. Low LH signals hypothalamic-pituitary suppression.

Optimal vs. normal range

For men, optimal is 1.5-8 mIU/mL. In women, follicular phase is 2-9 mIU/mL with ovulatory surge 20-80 mIU/mL.
